Gareth John to Become CEO and Director of Itasca MGA

Itasca MGA has appointed Gareth John as its new Chief Executive Officer and Director. John takes over from Kostya Zolotusky, who has been CEO since the company’s inception and will be retiring at the end of May. The company, established in 2023 by Castlelake and Pine Walk, operates under the Pine Walk platform, specializing in underwriting, structuring, and managing risks related to secured commercial aviation financing. This work is conducted on behalf of The Fidelis Partnership and Itasca Re Limited, a reinsurance company based in Bermuda and founded by Castlelake.

In his new role, John will concentrate on expanding Itasca MGA’s influence and capacity within the specialized aviation sector while continuing to support The Fidelis Partnership’s economic ventures. John’s prior experience includes serving as Head of Investment Banking, Coverage & Real Assets UK at Natixis, where he worked for over six years. Before that, he was Head of Transportation Finance Americas at Deutsche Bank.

Rinku Patel, Group COO of The Fidelis Partnership and CEO of Pine Walk expressed gratitude for Zolotusky’s leadership, which has significantly advanced Pine Walk’s distribution in the aviation sector. Patel also extended best wishes for Zolotusky’s retirement and welcomed John to the team, highlighting his extensive industry experience and connections, which are expected to enhance the company’s reach and capabilities in commercial aviation financing.
