Gallagher Re Japan Announces Major Leadership Changes

Gallagher Re Japan has unveiled significant changes in its senior leadership team, appointing George Sherriff as the new CEO and Tsuyoshi “Travis” Noguchi as Chairman. Sherriff, who currently leads the Global Client proposition across the Asia Pacific from Singapore, will maintain his oversight of this offering as he transitions into his new role. Sherriff and Noguchi will officially begin their new roles on July 1st. Gallagher Re concluded that with their combined leadership and expertise, the company is well-positioned for continued growth and success in Japan’s reinsurance market.

Sherriff has played a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of Gallagher Re’s Japanese operations for the past 13 years. His extensive experience and expertise in the region have been highlighted as key factors for his appointment.

Noguchi, who will take on the role of Chairman, has significantly expanded Gallagher Re’s presence in the Japanese market over the past decade. In his new capacity, he will collaborate closely with Sherriff to further develop and support the company’s global relationships with Japanese clients.

Mark Morley, Head of Asia Pacific at Gallagher Re, emphasized Sherriff’s suitability for the CEO position, citing his invaluable contributions to the firm’s Japanese business strategy. Morley expressed enthusiasm for Sherriff’s new leadership role and its potential impact on the company’s future.

Morley acknowledged Noguchi’s pivotal role in the evolution and growth of Gallagher Re’s Tokyo and Japan operations, expressing gratitude for his leadership and contributions.
