Embracer Group Announces Leadership Changes
Embracer Group has announced significant leadership changes, with Deputy CEO and Chief Financial Officer Johan Ekström stepping down. Ekström, who joined the company in 2019, will remain until March 31, 2025, to ensure a smooth transition before leaving for personal reasons.
Starting June 1, Phil Rogers will assume the role of Deputy CEO of Embracer Group while continuing his duties as CEO of Crystal Dynamics—Eidos and leader of the ‘Middle-earth Enterprises & Friends’ division. On September 1, current Deputy CFO Müge Bouillon will take over Ekström’s responsibilities as CFO.
Ekström will spend his remaining time at Embracer focusing on the company’s restructuring into three separate entities. This transition includes integrating new executive management team members such as Rogers and Coffee Stain CEO Anton Westbergh.
CEO Lars Wingefors expressed his gratitude for Ekström’s contributions, highlighting his pivotal role in developing and implementing Embracer’s strategy since 2016 and achieving the targets of the recent restructuring program. Wingefors also welcomed Bouillon as the new permanent CFO, noting her crucial role in the restructuring process and her extensive international CFO experience. He emphasized that Bouillon’s expertise would be invaluable during this critical period for the company.
Additionally, Wingefors expressed his enthusiasm for Rogers taking on additional responsibilities as Deputy CEO, underscoring the leadership strength this brings to Embracer Group.
