SVRN’s Exclusive Milken Investor Soirée Fosters Authentic Founder-Family Office Connections

Beverly Hills

In the world of venture, authentic relationships and trust are the drivers of collaboration and investment, though establishing these relationships is often easier said than done.  But at a stunning 40-acre estate in Beverly Hills earlier this month, SVRN, an innovative founder-investor community out of Los Angeles, and Velvet, an AI platform that automates a venture investor’s workflow, delivered a refreshingly community-driven experience. 200 founders, family offices, and fund managers came together for their annual Milken Investor Soirée.

The invite-only event on May 5th was curated to foster meaningful relationship-building through insightful discussions, creative networking activities, amazing hospitality, and an atmosphere made to inspire new ideas. The breathtaking estate setting, complete with its own private lake, provided a beautiful backdrop for the event.

At the centerpiece was a discussion focused on The Future of Investment through Technology and Community. Expert speakers included Albert Hill of Rose Hill, Charlotte Zhang from the Inatai Foundation, David Shapiro of OPEN VC, Darren Ma of Firefly Aerospace, and Nelson Del Rio Jr. representing Prosperity of the Commons International.

“We intentionally brought together an incredible group of forward thinkers to explore how technology and community can shape the future of investing and wealth creation,” says Ben Spievak, CEO and Co-Founder of SVRN. “Our goal was to spark new ideas by facilitating authentic conversation and connection, and that’s exactly what we did.”

This intentionality is core to SVRN’s approach. By carefully vetting attendees and purposefully balancing the mix of founders, investors, and industry experts, the company aims to provide a refreshingly high-quality ecosystem for collaborative opportunities to form themselves organically.

With $100T being handed to the next generation over the next 25 years, many family offices are rethinking the types of talent, businesses, and initiatives they want to back. Rather than simply funding MBAs from elite firms or promoting from within existing portfolio companies, these multi-generational wealth managers are increasingly seeking founders who bring a more experiential, vision-driven approach. They want people who have walked the walk – those with grit, determination, and the ability to execute ambitious ideas from the ground up.

The event presented itself as the perfect opportunity to connect family offices with precisely these types of entrepreneurial talents. As Co-Founder and COO David Li explains, “These investors feel the future’s top performers could come from non-traditional backgrounds and experiences. They want people who truly embody the qualities of a successful founder – relentless work ethic, specialized skills, and bold vision.”

SVRN’s unique ecosystem approach has attracted partnerships from family office communities like Dunhill Ventures, deep tech firms like Crowdpoint and Firefly Aerospace, and investment firms like OPEN and Crosscut Ventures.

As the next generation of founders and family offices emerges, SVRN is well-positioned to play an important role through its unique community model. With the success of the Milken Investor Soirée now inspiring future gatherings, the team is doubling down on its mission to redefine how people build meaningful relationships that drive mutual success.

“Our members don’t just want introductions, they want to be part of a trusted ecosystem that truly understands and supports their personal journeys,” Ben mentions. “That’s the kind of community we’re building at SVRN.”
