Clay Hansen Joins Mo’Bettahs Hawaiian-Style Food as CFO, Fueling Growth Strategy

Utah-based Mo’Bettahs Hawaiian-Style Food welcomes Clay Hansen as its new Chief Financial Officer, signaling a strategic move amid ambitious expansion plans. Hansen brings a wealth of experience in finance, IT, and strategy to the dynamic Hawaiian barbecue concept, bolstering its leadership team for the journey ahead.

Previously serving as Chief Information Officer at Greenix Pest Control, Hansen played a pivotal role in doubling the company’s revenue from $60 million to $120 million. His tenure at Greenix saw him navigate diverse roles, including Vice President of Marketing and Business Development, followed by Vice President of Strategy.

Hansen’s expertise extends beyond Greenix, having spent a decade at Café Rio, where he played a key role in scaling the company’s financial planning and analysis operations. Under his guidance, Café Rio expanded from 38 locations to over 140, showcasing his acumen in driving growth and operational excellence.

Excited to join Mo’Bettahs, Hansen acknowledges the brand’s exceptional growth trajectory and vibrant culture, citing the allure of its people and commitment to the aloha spirit. Rob Ertmann, CEO of Mo’Bettahs, expresses confidence in Hansen’s ability to contribute to the company’s fast-paced, growth-oriented culture. Ertmann highlights Hansen’s unique blend of attention to detail and strategic vision, underscoring his alignment with Mo’Bettahs’ ethos and trajectory.

Hansen’s appointment comes as Mo’Bettahs sets its sights on aggressive expansion, with plans to add ten new stores and three digital kitchens by the end of 2024. With 52 locations spanning seven states and a burgeoning presence in digital markets like Kansas City and Dallas, Mo’Bettahs is poised for substantial growth under Hansen’s financial stewardship.

Founded in 2008 by Kimo and Kalani Mack and later becoming part of Savory Fund’s portfolio in 2017, Mo’Bettahs continues to captivate palates and communities with its authentic Hawaiian flavors and warm hospitality.
