Hoa Nguyen to Become CFO of Cleary University
Alan Drimmer, Ph.D., President of Cleary University, has announced the appointment of Hoa Nguyen as the institution’s new Chief Financial Officer, effective Monday, April 15, following an extensive search process. As CFO, Nguyen will report directly to President Drimmer and will oversee all financial aspects of the university, providing strategic guidance on budgets, accounting, financial analysis, and reporting functions.
Nguyen brings over two decades of senior leadership experience to Cleary University, having served in various strategic roles across the country. Most recently, he held the position of Chief Strategy and Finance Officer at Heidelberg University in Ohio, where he also served as Vice President of Finance and Business Affairs. Prior to this, Nguyen held notable leadership roles at Mercyhurst University in Pennsylvania, St. Joseph’s College in Indiana, Our Lady of the Lake College in Louisiana, and Lansing Community College.
Beyond his administrative roles, Nguyen has also made significant contributions to academia, serving as an adjunct professor at multiple institutions, including Olivet College, Northwood University, and Heidelberg University.
Expressing his gratitude, Nguyen acknowledges the solid foundation laid by President Drimmer, the board, faculty, staff, and students, affirming his commitment to ensuring Cleary’s sustainability and emergence as a leader in today’s challenging higher education market. He succeeds Jeff Eubank, who served as Cleary’s Interim CFO for the past year.
Dr. Drimmer highlights Nguyen’s strengths in navigating the evolving financial landscape of higher education and expresses confidence in his ability to contribute to Cleary University’s continued success and growth. Governor John Engler’s appointment of Nguyen to the Michigan Commission on Asia in the Schools underscores his commitment to education beyond institutional boundaries.
