Thorsten Schlechtriem Assumes Leadership at GUS Holding GmbH, Prioritizing Product Development and Customer Focus

n April 1, 2024, Thorsten Schlechtriem assumed the helm of GUS Holding GmbH as its new Managing Director. Stepping into the role of Group CEO, Schlechtriem now oversees all subsidiaries within the GUS Group, including GUS ERP GmbH, GUS Switzerland, Brückner System, dibac software, Nexiga, Sopra System, GUS LAB, DORNER, MELOS, and MELOS Digital Network.

Schlechtriem succeeds Ekkehard Ziesche, the former Managing Director, who opted to embark on a new professional endeavor after more than two decades of instrumental contributions to the growth and customer-centric focus of the GUS Group.

Matthias Siekmann, CEO of the GENII Software Group, lauds Schlechtriem’s appointment, citing his exceptional expertise in enterprise software management and profound understanding of customer requirements within the CIS target markets. Siekmann anticipates Schlechtriem’s strategic insight will swiftly enhance value delivery for all stakeholders.

Transitioning from his role at EASY Software, where he served as Chief Operating Officer overseeing operational activities, Schlechtriem brings a wealth of experience to the GUS Group. Previously, he held sales leadership positions at software provider SAGE, specializing in the small and medium-sized enterprise (SME) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) sectors for over a decade.

In this capacity, Schlechtriem’s primary responsibilities encompass strategy formulation, product advancement, sales, and operational management. He envisions a heightened emphasis on verticalization, particularly within the critical industries of food, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, medical technology, cosmetics, milk production, and logistics, to augment the value proposition for CIS (Complex Industrial Solutions) clientele.

Expressing enthusiasm for his new role, Schlechtriem underscores his longstanding passion for business software, recognizing its pivotal role in organizational value creation. He highlights the GUS Group’s distinct advantage in offering industry-specific solutions tailored to the process industry, positioning it as a leading ERP provider in this sector. Schlechtriem pledges to fortify this position by intensifying product verticalization efforts and augmenting technological proficiency to meet evolving market demands effectively.
