Xencor Appoints Bart Cornelissen as SVP and CFO

Xencor, Inc. (NASDAQ: XNCR) has announced the appointment of Bart Cornelissen as its new Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. Xencor is renowned for its XmAb® technology, which has facilitated the development of over 20 clinical-stage candidates and led to three marketed medicines by partners.

Cornelissen brings with him over two decades of corporate finance expertise, previously serving as Vice President of Corporate Finance at Seagen Inc., where he helped in the company’s growth and its acquisition by Pfizer (NYSE: PFE) for $43 billion in 2023.

With experience at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Cornelissen has demonstrated proficiency in financial analysis and strategic decision-making, notably leading finance initiatives for malaria and neglected tropical disease partnerships.

Bassil Dahiyat, Ph.D., President, and CEO of Xencor, commended Cornelissen’s proven track record in financial planning and collaborative leadership, emphasizing his contribution to advancing Xencor’s clinical-stage pipeline and exploration of novel biology with its XmAb® platforms.

Expressing his enthusiasm for joining Xencor, Cornelissen highlighted the company’s esteemed reputation in protein engineering and the promising potential of its XmAb bispecific T cell engagers in oncology. In his position, he will support the company’s growth through strategic planning and capitalization as its internal pipeline advances through clinical development.

The appointment of Bart Cornelissen underscores Xencor’s commitment to enhancing its financial leadership and driving innovation in the biopharmaceutical sector.
