Investcorp Names Abbas Rizvi as Group CFO as Erik Back Retires
Investcorp has announced the appointment of Mr. Abbas Rizvi as its Group Chief Financial Officer, effective April 1st, 2024. Rizvi’s appointment follows the decision of Investcorp’s current CFO, Mr. Jan Erik Back, to retire.
Rizvi expressed his honor and excitement in assuming the role of CFO, emphasizing his deep commitment to Investcorp’s journey of growth and success. He looks forward to collaborating with the board, management team, and colleagues to execute the firm’s strategic vision and drive continued prosperity.
With 19 years of experience within the Investcorp finance team, Rizvi has demonstrated exceptional dedication, expertise, and leadership across various organizational roles. His profound understanding of Investcorp’s operations, financial systems, and strategic objectives positions him uniquely to excel in his new role as CFO.
Prior to joining Investcorp in 2005, Rizvi served in various capacities at Ernst & Young (E&Y), focusing on auditing and advisory services for financial institutions. He is a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan and an alumnus of the Yale School of Management’s Global Executive Leadership Program.
Mohammed Alardhi, Executive Chairman of Investcorp, expressed his delight in Rizvi’s appointment, citing his proven track record, extensive knowledge of the firm, and commitment to its values. Alardhi also thanked Jan Erik Back for his contributions and wished him the best in retirement.
