Continental’s CFO Announces Departure After Contract Expires

Katja Garcia Vila, Chief Financial Officer of Continental, has communicated to the company’s Supervisory Board her decision not to seek another term on the Executive Board after her contract expires in December 2024, citing her own career aspirations. Garcia Vila, who joined the Executive Board in December 2021, has been instrumental in shaping Continental’s financial strategies and overseeing Group Finance, Controlling, and IT.

Garcia Vila’s distinguished career at Continental began in 1997, spanning various roles across IT, marketing, sales, logistics, auditing, and purchasing. Her ascent to the Executive Board in 2021 marked the culmination of years of dedicated service and strategic acumen.

Expressing gratitude for her 27-year journey at Continental, Garcia Vila highlighted the achievements made during her tenure, including the improvement in earnings in fiscal 2023, which underscores the company’s solid foundation for future success.

Continental CEO Nikolai Setzer echoed these sentiments, praising Garcia Vila’s leadership during challenging times and recognizing her instrumental role in realigning the organization’s strategy for sustained success.

Prof. Wolfgang Reitzle, Chairman of Continental’s Supervisory Board, acknowledged Garcia Vila’s contributions to the company’s financial resilience and expressed regret at her departure, emphasizing her pivotal role in advancing Continental towards its mid-term targets.

As Continental bids farewell to Garcia Vila, her legacy as a visionary financial leader and strategic architect will endure, leaving an indelible mark on the company’s trajectory and future endeavors.
