Nikola Welcomes Thomas Okray as CFO
Nikola, the electric-truck innovator, has appointed Thomas Okray, a former executive at General Motors and Amazon, as its Chief Financial Officer, the company announced on Monday. Mr. Okray will assume his new role immediately.
Okray’s addition to the team follows the recent appointments of former GM executives Stephen Girsky as CEO in August and Mary Chan as Chief Operating Officer in September. This appointment comes in the wake of former CFO Anastasiya Pasterick’s decision to resign and explore other opportunities.
In February, Nikola projected the delivery of up to 350 hydrogen-powered fuel cell electric trucks this year and reported a reduced loss in the fourth quarter.
Expressing his excitement about joining Nikola, Okray remarked that his longstanding connections with some of Nikola’s leadership made this decision feel like a natural fit.
Okray boasts a distinguished career, including a 14-year tenure at GM, where he ascended from a senior analyst to CFO of a division. His responsibilities encompassed overseeing projects related to future vehicle development, enhancing profitability, and procurement of materials. During his time at Amazon, Okray held the position of Vice President of Finance in the global customer fulfillment division.
