As of February 27, 2024, Tadashi Yanai was the wealthiest person in Japan, with an estimated net worth of 41.9 billion U.S. dollars, followed by Masayoshi Son (No. 2, $38.7 billion), Takemitsu Takizaki (No. 3, $22.2 billion); and Takahisa Takahara (No. 4, $6.5 billion).
Yasumitsu Shigeta is the fifth-richest person in Japan, with a whopping $4.4 billion. Akio Nitori ranked 6th with a personal wealth of $4.1 billion, followed by Takao Yasuda with $4.0 billion. Masahiro Noda is placed 8th with a net worth of $3.7 billion. Hiroshi Mikitani ($3.5 billion) occupied the 9th position among the top 10 wealthiest people in Japan.
