As of February 20, 2024, Tadashi Yanai was the wealthiest person in Japan, with an estimated net worth of 40.4 billion U.S. dollars, followed by Masayoshi Son (No. 2, $28.7 billion), Takemitsu Takizaki (No. 3, $21.5 billion); and Takahisa Takahara (No. 4, $6.6 billion).

Yasumitsu Shigeta is the fifth-richest person in Japan, with a whopping $4.4 billion. Akio Nitori ranked 6th with a personal wealth of $4.1 billion, followed by Takao Yasuda with $4.0 billion, and Masahiro Noda ranked 8th with a net worth of $3.5 billion. Masahiro Miki ($3.5 billion) occupied the 9th position among the top 10 wealthiest people in Japan.
