Negar Feher to Become CFO Orbital Outpost X
On January 30, OOX revealed that Negar Feher, with a background in management and technical positions at Lockheed Martin, Maxar Technologies, Momentus Space, and SpaceRyde, assumes the role of CEO at Silicon Valley’s pioneering space technology startup Orbital Outpost X (OOX).
Feher’s decision to join OOX was influenced by the company’s “impressive and diverse team of talent.” She emphasized OOX’s unique approach to problem-solving, which prioritizes customer needs over simply showcasing technological innovations. In an email to SpaceNews, Feher expressed her attraction to OOX’s perspective, stating.
Feher envisions OOX contributing to the space ecosystem by establishing new universal technology standards, a departure from the current practice of companies developing unique widgets for every interface. OOX’s innovative approach involves creating a universal interface called the Secure Quick Connect Interface Device (SQuID), designed to seamlessly transfer fluids, electricity, and data. Feher emphasized that SQuID aims to make interfacing, mating, and data transfer both cost-effective and secure.
OOX specializes in developing components, systems, and subsystems for commercial space stations and received a $5 million convertible note from Space Infrastructures Ventures of the Netherlands in May. The company’s focus on space stations and fuel depots aligns with its mission to accelerate key enabling technologies, according to Space Infrastructure Ventures chairman Jose Alonso.
