Ram Krishnan Succeeds PepsiCo of North America Beverages CEO Kirk Tanner, who Becomes CEO of Wendy’s

PepsiCo, Inc. (NASDAQ: PEP) has disclosed the upcoming retirement of Kirk Tanner, who currently serves as the CEO of the company’s North America beverage business. His retirement is slated for February 2. In light of this, Ram Krishnan is named as the new CEO of PepsiCo Beverages North America. Following his departure from PepsiCo, Tanner is set to become the Chief Executive Officer of The Wendy’s Company.

Tanner concludes his 32-year tenure with PepsiCo, having joined the company in 1992. Throughout his extensive service, he held diverse leadership roles spanning sales, operations, customer marketing, distribution, and channel development across various U.S. and international locations. Taking on the position of CEO for PepsiCo Beverages North America in 2019, Tanner contributed to the company’s growth. Noteworthy roles in his career include President of PepsiCo Global Foodservice, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Frito-Lay’s West Business Division, Vice President of Sales at PepsiCo U.K. and Ireland, and several Vice President positions in Frito-Lay North America regions.

Ram  Krishnan, who is now the CEO of International Beverages and CCO PepsiCo, oversees various aspects, including the Global Concentrate group, Franchise operations, Global Beverage Group, SodaStream, Beyond the Bottle, and the Global Commercial organization. His journey with PepsiCo began in 2006, and he has held key leadership positions. Krishnan spent six years at Cadillac before joining PepsiCo.

Ramon Laguarta, who is the PepsiCo Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, expressed confidence in Krishnan’s ability to lead the North American beverage business. Laguarta praised Krishnan’s extensive experience and innovative leadership. Additionally, he acknowledged Tanner’s significant contributions to the organization and highlighted his impact on operational excellence, customer service, and a continuous innovation pipeline.

PepsiCo, operating in over 200 countries, generated more than $86 billion in net revenue in 2022, boasting a diverse portfolio of popular products.
