Qualcomm has expanded CFO Akash Palkhiwala’s responsibilities by adding a newly created COO role. According to a company representative, the COO position is a recent addition, and Palkhiwala assumed the role immediately. Since 2019, he has been serving as CFO and will continue reporting directly to President and CEO Cristiano Amon. This move aims to provide the executive with oversight of the global go-to-market organization, operations, and IT.
Prior to his CFO role, Palkhiwala served as SVP and finance lead for Qualcomm’s semiconductor business. He has been with the company since 2001, holding various leadership roles.
Amon highlighted Palkhiwala’s pivotal role in Qualcomm’s endeavors to venture into new markets, stating that he is well-positioned to further align the company’s operations to capture future growth opportunities.
