Jan-Pieter Lips from Adyean Joins DNA Payments Brings as CEO
DNA Payments, a company specializing in payment processing, has appointed Jan-Pieter Lips, a former executive from Adyen, as its new Chief Executive Officer. The company has assigned Lips the responsibility of leading its upcoming phase of expansion.
Lips will play a key role in advancing the company’s cloud-based omnichannel payment processing service, with a particular focus on reaching “fast-growing vertical market sectors,” including restaurants and specialized retailers across the UK and Europe.
Lips, recognized as a co-founder of the UK’s Nectar loyalty program, joins DNA Payments after his tenure at Adyen, where he served in various leadership roles for almost five years. His most recent position at Adyen was as the Head of Unified Commerce, overseeing the creation and operation of omnichannel verticals responsible for 23% of Adyen’s total payments volume.
The founders of DNA Payments, Arif Babayev and Nurlan Zhagiparov, who established the firm in 2018, express that Lips’ appointment allows them to concentrate on other vital aspects of the company’s operations. Babayev will shift his focus to mergers and acquisitions, partnerships, strategy, and executing expansion plans, while Zhagiparov will direct attention toward innovation, products, and technology.
In his new role, Lips acknowledges the significant growth experienced by the company and notes the increasing demand for market agility and innovations in commerce and payments from its clientele. He emphasizes his belief in the transformative role of technology, stating that the company is well-positioned to deliver on these fronts.
