DocGo CEO Lee Bienstock on Leading the Proactive Healthcare Revolution

DocGo CEO Lee Bienstock

Nearly 22 months have passed since DocGo appointed Lee Bienstock as its new Chief Operating Officer. Bienstock formerly held key leadership roles at Google for over 10 years before joining the company.

Since joining DocGo, Bienstock has demonstrated his leadership ability, ascending to president and COO before becoming the chief executive officer in September 2023. As DocGo’s CEO, he established the company’s vision of leading the proactive healthcare revolution and reimagining healthcare delivery.

Leading the Proactive Healthcare Revolution

When Bienstock first joined DocGo, he noted that healthcare delivery has evolved over the last few years, marked by innovations and technology-enabled solutions. Bienstock also pointed out that the solutions that helped scale access to healthcare and improved patient experiences are the future of healthcare as the general population embraces the adoption of virtual tools. DocGo stood at the “forefront of the proactive healthcare revolution,” making outstanding healthcare accessible to everyone, including underserved populations.

As CEO, Bienstock is now tasked with leading the revolution forward by ensuring DocGo brings care to patients where and when it’s needed. Mr. Bienstock maintains that DocGo’s utmost priority is the wellbeing of their patients and satisfaction of its customers. “DocGo’s Virtual Care Management services enable care provision from a distance,” he says. The services work in concert with a patient’s primary care physician and empower patients to take charge of their own health. Through remote monitoring and virtual health coaching to care plans, effective virtual care management results in better managed chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure.

Virtual Care Management also features Remote Patient Monitoring with dedicated healthcare teams monitoring health metrics. DocGo’s approach allows medical professionals to address concerns promptly, helping patients manage various conditions and achieve optimal health.

Bienstock has promised to make the company the best place to work in healthcare. DocGo has been recognized for its excellent workplace culture and employee satisfaction. One measure of this are the hundreds of positive reviews our employees have given DocGo on leading recruitment websites. DocGo’s employee rating on Indeed is 4.3 out of 5.0, and our employee rating on Glassdoor is 4.1 out of 5.0 – ratings that are significantly higher than our industry averages. Additionally, DocGo employees voted the company a Great Place to WorkTM for the second year in a row.

DocGo’s Technology-Enabled Solutions

DocGo’s technology-enabled solutions are driving the proactive healthcare revolution forward. DocGo combines connected devices, proprietary deployment software and hands-on clinical expertise to provide personalized, compassionate healthcare. DocGo’s proprietary technology and skilled medical professionals deliver a range of  population healthcare programs for governments, hospitals needing medical transportation, payers seeking value-based arrangements and other clients seeking mobile healthcare solutions.

DocGo’s programs help patients stay out of the hospital and receive care at home. The tech-enabled solutions are driven by compassion, creating a unique blend that meets both patients’ and customers’ needs. Lee Bienstock states, “Telehealth and other virtual care management tools have become a permanent part of the healthcare landscape, with DocGo leading the way. We give clients and patients peace of mind by providing medical specialists that regularly monitor health metrics remotely.”

Consistent monitoring of patient health metrics make it possible to respond to changes early before they escalate into preventable and costly emergency department visits or hospitalizations. Patients can receive urgent care, preventative services, and help with chronic conditions – all from the comfort of their living room. DocGo’s medical team comprises experienced professionals ready to deliver personalized care anytime, anywhere. Licensed practical nurses on DocGo’s on-demand mobile units also can respond directly to the home and providing point-of-care testing, diagnostics and other services. The in-home clinicians are connected with an advanced practice provider on the DocGo’s virtual care management team through telehealth, who has access to the patient’s care plan and key health metrics submitted through RPM. Through its virtual care teams and mobile on-demand units, DocGo delivers healthcare directly to clients and communities they serve, improving outcomes and increasing access by meeting patients where they are.

Disrupting Traditional Healthcare Systems

CEO Lee Bienstock and his team at DocGo are disrupting the traditional four-wall healthcare system. “Traditional fee-for-service healthcare has rewarded volume of service and doesn’t inherently incentivize quality,” said Bienstock. “Our solutions embrace the shift in healthcare toward a quality-based approach that rewards improvements in patient health, preventative care and reductions in overall healthcare spending.”   Through its mobile health programs, DocGo fulfills the full potential of tele-health, providing hands-on, in-home healthcare treatment deployed directly to the patient combined with remote providers and ongoing monitoring through connected devices. DocGo’s integrated Ambulnz medical transportation services also help reduce barriers to care and improve access.

Lee Bienstock was brought in to drive growth and realize DocGo’s full potential as a world-class provider of mobile healthcare services. DocGo provides services in 30 US States and the United Kingdom, with 7,000+ team members across its network. The company intends to enter new markets and relies on Bienstock’s leadership and experience in scaling businesses for profitable growth.
