Christian Poulsen Named CEO of Copenhagen Airports
Copenhagen Airports has designated Christian Poulsen as the incoming Chief Executive Officer, commencing his role on January 1, 2024. Poulsen assumed the responsibilities of acting CEO starting September 30, 2023, subsequent to the departure of former CEO Thomas Woldbye, who transitioned to lead London’s Heathrow Airport.
With over 14 years of tenure at Copenhagen Airport, Poulsen has served in various prominent roles, notably as the chief operating officer for the past four years.
The airport’s ongoing initiatives include the expansion of Terminal 3 to enhance passport control capacity, collaboration on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) development and testing through partnerships, and the facilitation of space for quieter and more fuel-efficient aircraft.
Expressing his thoughts on the appointment, Poulsen commented, “I am very proud and humble to have received the opportunity to become CEO of Copenhagen Airports. I look forward to using my insight and experience from my years at the airport to continue developing the airport and taking it to a new level for the benefit of passengers, business partners, and Danish infrastructure.”
Lars Nørby Johansen, the chairman of the board, remarked, “After a thorough recruitment process led by an international search firm, we have chosen Christian Poulsen as CEO of Copenhagen Airports. Christian possesses a unique combination of having an in-depth knowledge of the airport and its many stakeholders, and he is also an extremely competent leader who can ensure that the airport continues its positive development and maintains momentum.”
