Apoorv Dwivedi Appointed EVP and CFO at Knightscope following the Decision of President and CFO Mallorie Burak to Depart
Knightscope, Inc. (Nasdaq: KSCP), a prominent developer of autonomous security robots and emergency communication systems, has announced the appointment of Apoorv S Dwivedi as the Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective from January 2024.
Mallorie Burak, currently serving as President and CFO, is set to depart in early January 2024 to explore new opportunities. William Santana Li, Chairman and CEO, will resume operational responsibilities as President, marking one of Knightscope’s strategic moves toward profitability. The company aims to emphasize profitable growth, enhanced margins, operational efficiencies, and streamlined decision-making.
Expressing gratitude to Mallorie for her service, William Santana Li welcomed Apoorv to the Knightscope team, highlighting Apoorv’s extensive experience and energy. Li praised Apoorv’s diverse background, having worked across major corporations, led a startup, taken a company public, and possessed expertise in Reg A+ regulatory frameworks, complemented by an Ivy League education.
Dwivedi expressed excitement about joining Knightscope, highlighting the company’s role at the technological frontier with autonomy, robotics, and AI. He emphasized his commitment to driving financial and business strategies, collaborating closely with Knightscope’s leadership to achieve short-term objectives and create long-term shareholder value.
With a wealth of finance and corporate strategy experience, Dwivedi most recently served as the Chief Financial Officer of Nxu, Inc. (NXU), playing a pivotal role in the company’s Nasdaq IPO in 2022. He also led strategic initiatives in capital markets, investor relations, finance operations, and corporate growth. Prior to Nxu, Dwivedi held roles at Cox Automotive, Workiva, and General Electric Company, gaining progressive responsibilities in corporate finance.
He initiated his career at ABN-AMRO, N.A., and contributed significantly to building one of Sears Holdings Company’s initial data analytics teams. Dwivedi holds a Bachelor’s degree in Finance from Loyola University – Chicago and an MBA from Yale School of Management.
