Keith Meier has been appointed as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately, taking charge of Assurant’s global finance and technology divisions. Meier, reporting directly to Assurant President and CEO Keith Demmings, brings with him a 25-year tenure at Assurant, marked by leadership roles in various global business units, starting his career at Price Waterhouse LLP, specializing in insurance.
Meier succeeds Richard Dziadzio, who departs the firm after a seven-year tenure. Dziadzio’s contributions include overseeing the implementation of Assurant’s global finance operating model and steering the company’s prudent capital management strategy. He will remain with Assurant until mid-March 2024 to facilitate a smooth transition.
Francesca Luthi assumes the role of Chief Operating Officer (COO), reporting directly to Demmings. Her responsibilities encompass global operations, customer experience enhancement, data analytics, and digital and artificial intelligence transformation. Additionally, Luthi will retain oversight of people operations, communications, sustainability, diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) efforts, global sourcing, and facilities functions.
Demmings expressed confidence in Meier’s appointment, highlighting his unique blend of financial expertise, business acumen, and commitment to enhancing shareholder value through strategic investments and disciplined capital allocation. Meier’s past achievements in driving business growth and fostering digital innovation are seen as vital to strengthening Assurant’s competitive edge.
Demmings also hailed Luthi’s appointment, highlighting her role as a catalyst for significant business value and her prowess in advancing Assurant’s culture. He emphasized her focus on leveraging emerging technologies and operational excellence to drive value realization and enhance employee and customer experiences.
