Janet Truncale Succeeds Current EY Global Chair and CEO Carmine Di Sibio
EY has recently announced Janet Truncale’s election as the incoming EY Global Chair and CEO, commencing her role on July 1, 2024. Truncale will assume the responsibilities from Carmine Di Sibio, the current EY Global Chair and CEO, who will step down on the same date.
Di Sibio expressed confidence in Truncale’s leadership, emphasizing her extensive experience across various EY businesses and her dedication to cultivating a strong organizational culture. Truncale, in turn, expressed gratitude for the opportunity, emphasizing her commitment to advancing EY’s mission and values.
Under Di Sibio’s leadership, EY made significant strides in sustainability by appointing its first Chief Sustainability Officer and committing to carbon negativity by 2025, achieving substantial reductions in greenhouse gas emissions. His passion for accelerating Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) initiatives led to notable advancements both within and outside of EY, including elevating the representation of women on the Global Executive board to 33%.
Currently, Janet holds the position of Regional Managing Partner for EY Americas Financial Services Organization (FSO). In this capacity, she oversees a diverse team of over 14,000 professionals across the Americas, working collaboratively with EY clients to foster a trustworthy financial services industry.
Previously, Truncale served as the Managing Partner for Americas FSO Assurance, where she significantly enhanced audit quality and spearheaded the strategic operations, managing a team of 3,000 professionals.
Additionally, Truncale serves as the Board Chair for Women’s World Banking, contributes to UNICEF USA’s Board of Directors, and is a managing trustee for Liberty Science Center, among other notable roles and recognitions.
Janet’s journey at EY began as an intern, and she holds a BSE from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia University. She is a certified public accountant in New York and an active member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. Janet resides in New Jersey with her husband and three children.
