Shipley Do-Nuts has named Brad Reynolds as its new Chief Financial Officer. At Shipley, Reynolds will collaborate with the executive team to contribute to the brand’s growth, especially as Shipley is witnessing record sales and expanding its number of units. Joining the leadership team is Chris Smith, who takes on the role of Vice President of Operations to support Shipley’s growth.
Brad Reynolds is a seasoned multi-unit restaurant executive who previously served as the CFO at Blaze Pizza and Smashburger. Chris Smith has held leadership positions in multiple franchise restaurant brands, including Eskimo Hut, Rave Restaurant Group, and Smashburger. His primary focus will be on equipping franchisees with the necessary tools and support to ensure their success.
Flynn Dekker, CEO of Shipley, expressed the brand’s ambitious goals and the significance of having Brad and Chris on board. Their experiences with successful franchise systems are expected to be a strategic advantage as Shipley concentrates on opening new units, boosting store sales, and developing top-tier operational systems for franchisees. This marks a pivotal moment in Shipley’s 87-year history as the brand modernizes and expands its presence across the United States.
Established in 1936, Houston-based Shipley Do-Nuts is one of the nation’s largest donut brands, with nearly 350 company-owned and franchised restaurants spanning 12 states.
Shipley is consistently expanding into new markets. The company recently announced a new multiunit development agreement in Charlotte, North Carolina, and has opened locations in Colorado Springs, Colorado; Spartanburg, South Carolina; and Giddings, Texas, in the last three weeks alone. By the end of 2023, the brand will have opened over 20 new shops, increasing its presence in 12 states and achieving another record year of new shop openings.
