Olasupo Olusi Becomes Managing Director and CEO of the Bank of Industry
President Bola Tinubu has given his approval for the appointment of Dr. Olasupo Olusi as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Bank of Industry (BOI), initially for a four-year term.
A statement released by the presidential spokesperson, Ajuri Ngelale, on Thursday announced President Tinubu’s approval of Olusi’s appointment, which followed the voluntary resignation of the former BOI Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Olukayode Pitan.
Dr. Olusi brings a wealth of experience to this role, having served as a World Bank economist and development finance expert for over two decades.
From 2011 to 2015, he served as the economic adviser to the then Coordinating Minister of the Economy and Minister of Finance. He is an alumnus of Hull University in the United Kingdom and holds a Master’s degree in International Money, Finance, and Investment. Additionally, he earned a Doctorate in Finance & Economics from Durham University, United Kingdom, in 2005.
President Tinubu has charged the new BOI Chief Executive with the responsibility of ensuring that individuals and enterprises of all sizes, spanning various sectors, have equal and fair access to the much-needed support. This support is intended to enhance employment opportunities and foster wealth creation across income groups in the country, with particular attention to lower and middle-income enterprise operators.
