Why You Should Your Child To Udine International School in Italy

Italy is home to several international schools. These private schools offer a wide range of quality facilities in alignment with international standards. While their popularity is soaring, expats mostly love them because they are an excellent source of multiculturalism and globalization.

One of the most popular international schools in Italy which uphold these principles is Udine International School (UTS).

This day school in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy, embraces diversity and assists in education from early years to high school. With the right toolkit in possession, the school administers world-class education and has gained accolades for the same. But there’s more. Let’s read about what the school is all about.

  1. An Overview

First of all, the school is a day school and admits students from age 2 to 19 years old. It is a co-educational school with numerous nationalities studying under its aegis; estimates suggest that there are about 250-odd students enrolled.
Being an international school, UTS instructs in both English and Italian across curricula. Foreign languages are also taught, including German and Spanish. Also, it is a private international school, so the tuition fees lean on the expensive side, usually between EUR 7,000 and EUR 10,500.

  1. Academics at UTS

Jumping on the academic structure at UTS, the following are the various phases of education under administration:

      • Early Childhood Center: The Early Childhood Phase covers education from pre-nursery to kindergarten. The age group falls between 2 and 6. These are formative years, so focus is given to play-learn strategies. The mode of instruction is English.
      • Elementary School: After Early Childhood, Grades 1 to 5 are covered under the elementary/primary school. The curriculum is a mix of national and international education. Core subjects include language arts, reading, math, Italian, social studies, and science.
      • Middle School: From Grade 6 to Grade 8, students attend middle school. The curriculum covers core and additional subjects; subjects include the ones already taught in elementary school, plus a choice of foreign language, Latin, Physical Education, and Art.
      • High School: UTS didn’t originally operate a high school. In 2022, the high school was first opened. The purpose is to prepare students for secondary-level education locally and internationally. Specialist subjects and Elective subjects are part of the curriculum.
  1. Facilities

A range of facilities are offered for the use and benefit of the students. These services include a soccer court, basketball court, art room, gym, computer room, library, science room, volleyball court, swimming pool, and dining room.

  1. Admissions Process

You’ll usually find commonality among international schools as far as admissions are concerned. However, a few pointers about UTS and its admissions process are a must:

      • Application is accepted throughout the year, and the admissions are made on a rolling basis.
      • Knowledge of English may or may not be imperative, depending on the grade applied for.
      • You’ll have to secure an appointment with the director of admissions or contact them via email.
      • A set of documents is to be submitted at the office, including previous school reports, medical records, a valid identity document, and photographs.
