Michael Riegel is the CEO of Navan in the EMEA Region
Navan, the travel management company, has announced the appointment of Michael Riegel as the new CEO for the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region.
Previously serving as the General Manager for Navan in the EMEA region, Riegel will now be responsible for overseeing expansion, enhancing the brand’s presence, and managing the Profit and Loss (P&L) operations across the region.
Ariel Cohen, CEO of Navan, expressed confidence in this decision, stating, “Appointing Michael as CEO of Navan, EMEA, was an obvious choice. His expertise in scaling businesses has proved instrumental as Navan becomes the leader in travel, payments, and expense in Europe and sets the standard for travel and expense management globally.”
Michael Riegel’s career began during the early days of the Internet, and he has since established himself as an entrepreneur and a builder of companies. Prior to joining Navan, he co-founded and served as the CEO of Comtravo, a technology-driven travel management company based in Berlin. Comtravo was acquired by the Navan Group in 2022.
During his previous role as the General Manager of EMEA, Michael Riegel achieved significant growth, with Navan’s EMEA booking volume and spending volume more than doubling year-over-year. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in the successful launch of Navan Expense in Europe and contributed significantly to the adoption of NDC (New Distribution Capability) within the company.
Speaking about his new role, Michael Riegel, CEO of Navan in EMEA, emphasized the importance of Europe within the Navan Group’s customer base, underlining the significance of understanding local requirements and challenges across the region.
