Karen Halligan from KPMG Joins OzTAM as CEO
Australian television audience measurement company OzTAM has announced the appointment of Karen Halligan as its new Chief Executive, effective from November 27. She will succeed interim Chief Executive Dorus van den Biezenbos, who assumed the role in July following the departure of Doug Peiffer.
Karen Halligan is joining OzTAM from KPMG, where she serves as a partner in KPMG Customer, specializing in marketing, marketing technology, and media advisory. Karen has nearly 25 years of experience in senior roles across client, media owner, and agency sectors, including positions at Zenith, MediaCom, and Coca-Cola as a media manager.
Dorus van den Biezenbos will remain associated with OzTAM as a consultant even after stepping down from his role as interim Chief Executive.
Mark Buckman, the independent chair of OzTAM, expressed his enthusiasm. Karen Halligan also expressed her excitement about the opportunity.
OzTAM introduced its viewing measurement VOZ in May and is planning to launch VOZ Streaming, a multi-broadcaster video-on-demand (BVOD) measurement tool, in the coming year.
