Rob Fletcher is the new CEO of Magnox
The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) has announced the appointment of Rob Fletcher as the permanent CEO of Magnox Ltd. Rob has been serving as the interim CEO since May 2023 and has already made significant contributions to both Magnox and the broader NDA group.
David Peattie, CEO of the NDA group, expressed his satisfaction with Rob’s permanent appointment, highlighting Rob’s extensive experience in the nuclear industry and his role in driving Magnox as it undertakes the complex task of decommissioning some of the UK’s most challenging nuclear plants while taking on new missions.
Lawrie Haynes, Chair of Magnox Ltd., also acknowledged Rob’s substantial contributions to Magnox and Dounreay, emphasizing his understanding of the business, its challenges, and successes. With a continued focus on the safe, secure, and sustainable decommissioning of the UK’s nuclear legacy across the Magnox and Dounreay sites, Rob will additionally oversee the undertaking of EDF’s AGR stations as they undergo defueling.
In response to his appointment, Rob Fletcher expressed his delight in securing the role of Magnox CEO on a permanent basis. He looks forward to collaborating with the dedicated individuals across the organization to fulfill their missions for the benefit of the UK.
