Central Garden & Pet CEO Tim Cofer Joins Keurig Dr Pepper

Tim Cofer is set to join Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) on November 6th as the Chief Operating Officer. He will serve in this role until the second quarter of 2024, when he will transition to the position of Chief Executive Officer, succeeding the current CEO, Robert Gamgort, as stated by the company.

Mr. Gamgort expressed confidence in Mr. Cofer’s ability to lead KDP into its next phase, highlighting his track record as a successful CEO of a publicly traded company and his extensive experience in the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry.

The change in leadership at KDP occurred in November 2022 when Mr. Gamgort assumed the role of CEO following the resignation of Ozan Dokmecioglu due to violations of the company’s code of conduct.

The company’s lead independent director, Paul Michaels, emphasized that the selection process for the next CEO was thorough and encompassed both internal and external candidates. The board is confident that Mr. Cofer’s extensive CPG experience and growth-focused leadership will position him as a strong successor in the role of CEO at KDP.

Currently, Mr. Cofer holds the position of CEO at Central Garden & Pet Co., based in Walnut Creek, California. Prior to his role at Central Garden & Pet Co., he accumulated 25 years of experience in various capacities at Mondelez International in Chicago. Before that, he was associated with Kraft Foods.
