Viavi Solutions Inc. has officially announced that the board of directors has accepted the resignation of Henk Derksen from his role as VIAVI’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO). This change is set to take effect on August 25, 2023. Derksen has chosen to step down from his current position to pursue a new opportunity in Europe. His decision to resign is unrelated to any disputes or disagreements with VIAVI concerning the company’s operations, policies, or practices.
Derksen will conclude his tenure with the company on September 30, 2023. He has expressed his commitment to facilitating a seamless transition of his responsibilities during this period. In the interim, starting from October 1, 2023, and until a permanent successor is identified, Pam Avent, the current Global Controller at VIAVI, will assume the role of interim CFO.
Oleg Khaykin, the President and Chief Executive Officer of VIAVI, remarked on Derksen’s departure: “I am sorry to see Henk leave. However, I understand and respect his personal situation and objectives. I thank him for his immense contribution and support during the past two and a half years and wish him success in his future endeavors,” said Oleg Khaykin, President and Chief Executive Officer of VIAVI. Khaykin added, “We have initiated a search for Henk’s successor.”
