Jason Storah, the current CEO of Aviva Canada during the last four years, helped the company to achieve a 34% growth in Gross Written Premium (GWP) and establish itself as the second-largest General Insurer in the Canadian market. With nearly two decades of experience at Aviva, Mr. Storah has taken on various roles. Prior to becoming the CEO of Aviva Canada, his recent position was Chief Distribution Officer. In this capacity, he supervised broker distribution, partnerships (including notable collaborations like RBC Insurance), direct insurance operations, and marketing.
Mr. Storah is expected to become the CEO of UK & Ireland General. The appointment is subject to regulatory approval. In his upcoming role, he will maintain his reporting line to Aviva Group CEO Amanda Blanc and retain his membership in Aviva’s Group Executive Committee, which he has been a part of since 2020.
Taking over Mr. Storah’s position as CEO of Aviva Canada is Tracy Garrad, who is set to assume her new role on October 16, 2023. The appointment is subject to visa and regulatory approval. Ms. Garrad boasts a distinguished career, having held senior roles in the financial services, insurance, and healthcare sectors. Most recently, she served as the CEO of AXA’s UK Healthcare business (formerly known as AXA PPP). Prior to this, she was the CEO of HSBC’s Channel Islands and Isle of Man business. Preceding these roles, she was at the helm of First Direct Bank for four years. Ms. Garrad also serves as a Non-Executive Director of The London Stock Exchange Group plc.
Reporting to Aviva Group CEO Amanda Blanc, Ms. Garrad will become a member of Aviva’s Group Executive Committee upon joining the company.
