Arnab Roy from Schneider is the New CFO of Maruti Suzuki
Indian automotive giant Maruti Suzuki has chosen Arnab Roy, a senior executive from Schneider, as its Chief Financial Officer (CFO), effective from January 1, 2024. Before officially taking on the role of CFO, Roy will first join Maruti Suzuki as CFO-designate starting from October 16, 2023.
The present CFO, Ajay Seth, is set to retire from the position of whole-time CFO on December 31. However, he will continue to be a member of the executive board thereafter, according to the company’s statement filed with the stock exchange.
Roy brings more than 26 years of experience with multinational corporations in the US, UK, and France, handling various aspects of Finance and Accounts. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Statistics, and Mathematics from Ranchi University, and he pursued Chartered Accountancy and Cost Accountancy. He also holds an Executive MBA from IIM Bangalore.
In January 2022, Roy was appointed as the zone CFO for the Greater India region at Schneider, where he managed all Schneider businesses with a combined turnover of around Rs 22,000 crore.
The company’s statement noted, “During his career, he has successfully handled mergers & acquisitions and other growth initiatives like contract manufacturing, licensing, working with investment bankers on potential acquisition opportunities, etc. He has been involved in analyzing value chains, designing distributor footprints, evaluating channel partners, and deciding on optimum channel strategy.”
