Hays Has a new CEO, Effective on September 1

Dirk Hahn is set to assume the position of Chief Executive Officer at Hays plc starting from September 1. Hahn is also slated to become a member of Hays’ Board, commencing his board duties on September 1. Hahn presently serves as the Managing Director for Hays’ operations in Germany, in addition to overseeing the Continental Europe, Middle East, and Africa divisions. With a tenure spanning over two decades at Hays, he currently manages a workforce of around 5,500 employees.

The announcement, made on February 23, stated that the current CEO, Alistair Cox, would relinquish his positions as CEO and board member by August 31.

Cox, who has led Hays for 16 years, shared his pride in the accomplishments during his tenure. He highlighted the company’s transformation into a global recruitment industry leader with substantial potential for further growth. Recognizing Dirk Hahn’s pivotal role within the senior leadership team and his comprehensive grasp of the business, Cox expressed his confidence that Hahn would excel in the new role.

In a press release, Andrew Martin, the Chair of the Board, expressed confidence in Hahn’s strategic acumen and extensive network, underscoring his ability to drive Hays’ growth initiatives forward. Hahn’s successful leadership in the German sector has contributed to it now constituting 30% of Hays’ overall gross profit. Hahn himself noted the company’s promising prospects and his eagerness to leverage the firm’s strong foundation for sustained expansion in key markets and sectors.
