Ann Ford Takes Over Leadership from Gary Sims in Gray Bruce Health Services

Ann Ford has been designated as the upcoming President and CEO of Gray Bruce Health Services, succeeding Gary Sims, who is set to retire in a matter of months. Ford is scheduled to take on her new responsibilities in late October. In order to ensure a smooth transition, Sims will continue his role until November 3rd.

Ford’s entrance into GBHS coincides with the organization’s inauguration of a new hospital in Markdale and the establishment of the Wellness and Recovery Center in Owen Sound.

With over three decades of experience in executive healthcare leadership, Ford arrives at GBHS from her current position as the Executive Vice President of Corporate Services and Integrated Health Systems at William Osler Health System, which serves the areas of Brampton and Etobicoke.

Jo Flewwelling, Chair of the GBHS Board of Directors, expresses contentment over Ford’s appointment as the incoming President and CEO. Flewwelling emphasizes Ford’s capacity as a transformative leader, equipped with the insight and proficiency needed to steer the execution of strategic plans and developmental initiatives. Flewwelling also underscores Ford’s adeptness in project development and engagement with stakeholders, a crucial skill set that aligns well with GBHS’s extensive geographical reach encompassing both rural and multi-site healthcare services.
