Camden National Corporation Names Simon Griffiths for the role of CEO
The Board of Directors of Camden National Corporation (NASDAQ: CAC) and its wholly owned subsidiary, Camden National Bank, have announced the selection of Simon Griffiths, aged 50, as the incoming President and Chief Executive Officer, replacing the current President and CEO, Gregory Dufour, aged 63. Griffiths’ appointment will take effect on December 31, 2023.
Griffiths will commence his role at Camden National around November 20, 2023, initially as the Executive Vice President & Chief Operating Officer. He will subsequently assume the roles of President and CEO of Camden National and become a member of the Board of Directors for both organizations, starting from January 1, 2024. Dufour will continue to support Camden National by offering advisory services for a few months following his retirement on December 31, 2023.

He expressed confidence in Simon Griffiths’ abilities and commitment to steering the Bank’s future, emphasizing his intention to ensure a seamless transition.

Griffiths has recently served as the Executive Vice President – Head of Core Banking at Citizens Bank. His banking career began in 2002 at Washington Mutual Bank, progressing swiftly through the ranks with significant responsibilities in operations and sales, culminating in market manager leadership roles.
Griffiths holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Sheffield in England. He became a Board Member of Invest in Girls in 2019, an organization that merged with the Council for Economic Education. Presently, he serves on the Invest in Girls Program Advisory Committee and actively volunteers with Minds Matter. Griffiths and his family are relocating to Maine from their seasonal home in Hancock County.
