Direct Line approaches Adam Winslow from Aviva for the role of CEO
Direct Line Insurance Group has shown interest in recruiting one of Aviva’s senior managers to assume the role of their next CEO. Notably, Adam Winslow, who currently serves as the CEO of Aviva UK & Ireland General Insurance, has emerged as the top candidate on their list.
This development comes as Direct Line seeks a suitable successor for Penny James, who resigned unexpectedly in January. The company’s performance suffered over the previous year, leading to a decline in its value and the erosion of its balance sheet.
Adam Winslow originally joined Aviva in January 2021 to hold the position of CEO of International. This potential move to Direct Line would mark a significant change in his career trajectory.
In the interim, Jonathan Greenwood, Chief Commercial Officer, was appointed as the acting CEO to oversee operations during this transitional period.
