Construction Commission CEO Steps Down
The announcement of the impending departure of the Commission of the Construction of Québec’s CEO, Diane Lemieux, came as a surprise to many within the industry. Her tenure, spanning over 12 years, has involved leading a sizable organization with a multifaceted mission, operating within an environment where employer associations and unions collaborate but also encounter tensions at times.
Lemieux declined to provide an interview regarding her departure, while CCQ announced that François Charette, Vice-President of Legal Services and General Secretariat, will assume the role of interim CEO. The appointment of CCQ’s CEO is determined by the provincial cabinet.
Throughout her leadership, Lemieux has undertaken substantial initiatives. This includes addressing the combating of workplace harassment in the industry, advocating for increased representation of women in construction, and spearheading ethical and governance reforms at CCQ.
