Nicole Kivisto Will Replace Current President and CEO David Goodin of MDU
The president and CEO of MDU Resources Group, Inc. (NYSE: MDU), David L. Goodin, has announced his retirement effective January 5 after serving the company for a remarkable 40-year career. The current president and CEO of MDU Resources’ electric and natural gas utility companies Nicole A. Kivisto has been chosen by the Board of Directors to take over from Goodin as the president and CEO of MDU Resources, commencing January 6. Nicole A. Kivisto will also join the Board of Directors as a member.
Goodin embarked on his journey with the company in 1983 as an electrical engineer at subsidiary Montana-Dakota Utilities Co. Progressing through diverse roles with increasing responsibilities, he assumed the position of MDU Resources’ president and CEO in 2013.
Kivisto joined the company in 1995 and has taken on various roles with increasing responsibilities, including her prior positions as MDU Resources’ controller and chief accounting officer. In 2015, she was appointed as the president and CEO of MDU Resources’ utilities, encompassing Cascade Natural Gas Corporation, Intermountain Gas Company, and Montana-Dakota Utilities Co.
