How To Consume Herbs Properly

The scientific community lately brings up the power of herbs. Most civilizations have used all kinds of herbs throughout the centuries in all parts of the world. Modern medicine has replaced some of them and changed how we receive particular ingredients. Both approaches have much to offer to human health and should be used to treat people. Today we will see how you should use them to enjoy their positive effects and avoid annoying side effects.

Always start with a small dosage

The effects of the herbs on your body are not always the same. In many cases, the herbs help the process of detox and allow you to get rid of all the toxins you carry in your body. As these unhealthy substances move away, the balance your body has created is being disturbed. Even though these substances were unhealthy, the body had figured out how to live with them and still function. After you remove them, the body will have to find new ways to remain functional.

During this process, you may feel uncomfortable and feel some small but unpleasant symptoms. This is why professionals who work in the industry suggest that you should start with a small dosage before you move on to greater detox. Remember that a person has preferred to use herbs instead of medicine because they did not want to disturb the balance we described before. Therefore, you should ensure you will not bring a similar unpleasant result while using the herbs.

You should use them for at least two weeks

This is a very particular rule. Herbs are less strong than pills, and you may have to use them for a while before seeing any noticeable results. A little patience would not harm in this case. It usually takes two weeks for a healthy body to fully ”understand” the herbs’ effect and respond accordingly.

Be consistent

It is often noticed that the consumption of healing herbs is combined with stressful conditions. People turn to medicine when they are sick or stressed. The same rule applies to herbs. In addition, it is not rare that some people may travel a lot, making it even harder to keep a tidy schedule. All these conditions could make it harder for you to be consistent regarding the time you are consuming them and the frequency you use them. However, since their effects are less impressive than the effects of medicines, it is essential to be consistent; otherwise, they may not work at all.

Your body will warn you when you have to stop

Professionals usually suggest that all herbs should be consumed for one up to three months. If you are unsure that the medicine of nature works, try the following experiment: Stop consuming them and see if you notice any difference. If you feel worse, this means that your body is still trying to heal. In this case, you should keep using them a little bit more until the detox process is completed.

Prefer organic and whole herbs instead of extracts

Using herbs in the right form reduces the possibility of facing any unpleasant side effects. If you use them in their proper form and still have side effects, try reducing the dosage until you see the desirable results. Besides the side effects, herbs are better in their natural form because they are more effective. The more processed the substances are, the more their precious ingredients are destroyed.

There is an optimal time of consumption

Each herb and supplement is not supposed to be consumed at the same time of the day. Usually, they are consumed after meals. Still, in cases where the patient’s stomach is sensitive, doctors suggest we take them during meals. In any case, not every herb follows the same rules, so you should take your doctor’s advice and choose a particular time to take them.
