It is interesting to see which colleges some of the most successful CEOs attended. After all, does the right choice of college play a role in laying the right foundations for a person’s subsequent course?

Carl Douglas McMillon, president and CEO of Walmart after high school attended the University of Arkansas. He graduated from University of Arkansas in 1989 with a bachelor’s degree. He holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration. Carl Douglas McMillon grew up in Jonesboro, Arkansas and then he moved with his parents to Bentonville, Arkansas where he still lives with his wife and his two sons.

Warren Buffett, chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway graduated from the university of Nebraska – Lincoln at the age of 19. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. From an early age he developed an interest in business.

Jeff Bezos, founder and executive chairman of Amazon graduated from Princeton University in 1986. He holds a degree in electrical engineering and computer science.

Elon Musk, founder, CEO, and Chief Engineer at SpaceX and CEO and Product Architect of Tesla graduated from University of Pennsylvania in 1997. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in economics and a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics. Elon Musk transferred to the University of Pennsylvania from the Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario where he entered in 1990.

The American investor Peter Lynch who was the manager of the Magellan Fund at Fidelity Investments between 1977 and 1990 graduated from the Boston College in 1965. He studied history, psychology, and philosophy.

Nikesh Arora, an Indian-American business executive holds a degree from Boston College. Nikesh Arora is the CEO and chairman of Palo Alto Networks.

Khalid A. Al-Falih is Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia. He served as Minister of Energy of Saudi Arabia and chairman of Saudi Aramco. He also has previously served as the Saudi Arabian Health Minister and Aramco’s CEO. He attended Texas A&M University, graduating in 1982 with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Thomas Boone Pickens Jr. was an American business magnate and financier. He died in 2019 at the age of 91. Pickens attended Texas A&M on a basketball scholarship, but he lost the scholarship and then transferred to Oklahoma A&M (now Oklahoma State University), where he studied geology.

Jeffrey Immelt is an American business executive. He currently works as a venture partner at New Enterprise Associates. He previously served as the CEO of General Electric from 2001 to 2017, and the CEO of GE’s Medical Systems division from 1997 to 2000. He is a graduate of Dartmouth College.

Eli Broad was an American businessman. He died in April 2021. He was one of the wealthiest people in the world with an estimated net worth of $6.7 billion. Broad attended Michigan State University, majoring in accounting with a minor in economics. He graduated in 1954.

Tom Gores, founder of Platinum Equity, a private equity firm with headquarters in Beverly Hills, California after high school he attended Michigan State University. He graduated in 1986 with a bachelor’s degree in construction management. Tom Gores was born in Nazareth, Israel. When he was around five years old, he and his family left Nazareth and settled in Genesee, Michigan.

Larry Page who is best known as one of the co-founders of Google holds a Bachelor of Science in computer engineering from the University of Michigan, with honors and a Master of Science in computer science from Stanford University.

Sergey Brin co-founded with Larry Page Google. After attending Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Greenbelt, Maryland he enrolled in the University of Maryland, where he received his Bachelor of Science from the Department of Computer Science in 1993. He was 19 years old. Then Brin began his graduate study in computer science at Stanford University.

Rodney McMullen CEO of Kroger, has a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in accounting, both from the University of Kentucky.
