Top countries with the most distinguished computer scientists for 2021

Billions of computer scientists can be found all over the world. But which countries have the most distinguished ones?

The United States lead the list with the most distinguished computer scientists for 2021. The number of leading computer scientists in the United States surpassed 600 people. One of the most famous American computer scientists is Lary Page. Can you really go a day without Googling something? Stanford University and the University of California, Berkeley are the two main institutions in USA with the highest number of leading computer scientists in 2021.

The United Kingdom comes second on the list with the most distinguished computer scientists for 2021. The number of leading computer scientists for 2021 in the United Kingdom is about 60 people. Andrew Zisserman is the top computer scientist in the United States. He is a professor at the University of Oxford and a researcher in computer vision. He is best known for multiple- view geometry.

China (3rd in the list) has almost 40 leading computer scientists for 2021. Hong Jiang Zhang is a top computer scientist in China. He is the Head of Bytedance Technical Strategy Research Center. He has also served as Managing Director of Microsoft Advanced Technology Center (ATC) and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Microsoft China Research and Development Group (CRD). Two of the best universities for computer science in China are Tsinghua and Peking.

Another European country, Germany comes at the 4th place of the list with 37 leading computer scientists for 2021. Some of the best universities in Germany for computer science is the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, the Technical University of Berlin and the RWTH Aachen University. At the same time Jörg Henkel, is considered as one of the top computer scientists in Germany. He is an engineer at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and also was named a Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2015 for his contributions to hardware and software codesign of embedded computing systems.

Canada (5th on the list) has almost 34 leading computer scientists for 2021. The University of British Columbia, the University of Montreal and the University of Alberta are the three most known for studying computer science.

Switzerland (6th on the list) has almost 29 leading computer scientists for 2021. Luc Van Gool is considered as one of the top computer scientists in Switzerland. He is a Full Professor at ETH Zurich since the fall of 1998. He is head of the Computer Vision Laboratory. The 2D and 3D object recognition, texture analysis, range acquisition, stereo vision, robot vision, and optical flow are his major research interests.

Next comes Australia (7th on the list) with 21 leading computer scientists for 2021. The University of Sydney, the University of New South Wales and Australian National University are among the top ones for computer science studies. Due to his contributions to cloud computing Rajkumar Buyya from the University of Melbourne, Australia was named Fellow of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) in 2015.

Hong Kong (8th on the list) follows Australia, Israel, and Belgium complete the top 10 countries with the most distinguished computer scientists for 2021. The number of leading computer scientists for 2021 in Hong Kong is about 10 people, while in Israel and Belgium the number of leading computer scientists for 2021 is about 19 and 13 people respectively. The Chinese University Hong Kong, the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology and the City University Hong Kong are considered three of the best global universities for computer science in Hong Kong. De Moor Bart from Belgium has a PhD in Electrical Engineering and he is a Full Professor, Dept. Electrical Engineering, KU Leuven, Belgium. He is one of the most known computer scientists in Belgium.
