Zhong Shanshan surpasses Warren Buffett on global rich list
After dethroning Mukesh Ambani as Asia’s wealthiest, Chinese billionaire Zhong Shanshan surpasses Warren Buffett on global rich list. Zhong Shanshan’s fortune rose by $13.5 billion in 2020, to $93.1-billion making him the sixth richest person on the planet. Warren Buffett, the Chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, has a net worth of $88.2 billion.
Zhong Shanshan has also helped 4 family members become billionaires. His younger sister, Zhong Xiaoxiao, and three of his wife’s siblings each hold a 1.4% stake in Nongfu worth $1.3 billion.
It’s only the second time a Chinese billionaire has broken into the world’s Top 10 — property tycoon Wang Jianlin hit No. 8 in 2015.
Zhong Shahshan’s wealth likely to enter the $100 billionaires club soon
The bottled water tycoon, Zhong Shanshan is on track to become the world’s 6th person with a net worth in excess of $100 billion after Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk ($195 billion), Amazon’s CEO Jeff Bezos ($185 billion), Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates ($134 billion), LVMH chairman Bernard Arnault Bernard Arnault ($116 billion) and Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg ($102 billion).
