Revealed: Where Richest People In The United Kingdom Live?
A new study looked at the location of the UK’s high earners – British residents with an income of more than £150,000 a year, with Kensington and Chelsea topping the pile. The study also found London is now home to 38% of the UK’s high earners.
Home to Sir Elton John and the Beckhams, the London borough of Kensington and Chelsea is the “richest borough” in the United Kingdom with the highest number of residents earning over £150,000 a year, with 12,000. “Kensington and Chelsea” ties with Westminster as the area with the highest number of residents earning over £150,000 a year, with 12,000. It is followed by Wandsworth (10,000 residents), Camden (9,000 residents) and Hammersmith and Fulham (7,000residents), according to the data.
London boroughs of Westminster; Wandsworth; Camden; and Hammersmith and Fulham complete the top five in the study of those with an income of more than £150,000 a year. The only 2 boroughs outside of the capital and its surrounding towns in the top 25 were Edinburgh and Cheshire East.
Elmbridge in Surrey – the so-called “Beverly Hills of Britain” – is the only area outside London with the highest number of residents earning over £150,000 a year, with 6,000. The area has become the stomping ground for high-net worth’s and sporting stars, including Gary Lineker, Frank Lampard, Andy Murray, Martin Kelly (footballer), Chris Wolstenholme (musician), John Terry (footballer), Louise Redknapp (singer), David Hamilton (broadcaster).
