World’s Top 10 Countries With The Highest Number Of High Net Worth Individuals In 2018

The United States has the highest number of high net worth individuals in the world, according to a new report from wealth research firm Wealth-X. The U.S. is home to the highest proportion of high-net-worth residents – 8.7 million in 2018. Meaning the U.S. accounted for nearly 40% of the world’s HNW population (22.4 million).

China was the next-closest country, where more than 1.8 million high net worth individuals reside.

The population of high net worth individuals – defined as those with a net worth of $1 million to $30 million — those worth more than $30 million are classified as ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) and are not represented in this data set.

Here are the top ten countries with the highest number of high-net-worth (HNW) individuals in the world, which accounted for 75.2 percent of the global HNW population.
