Not surprisingly, Maryland has the highest percentage of millionaire households of any state in America for 2018, that’s according to Kiplinger’s calculations. More than 7.87 percent of Marylanders have more than $1 million in investable assets.

Maryland is home to some of the world’s wealthiest people: real estate mogul Ted Lerner & family ($4.7 billion fortune); Stephen Bisciotti ($4.7 billion fortune), Baltimore Ravens Owner; Carlyle Group co-CEO David Rubenstein ($2.8 billion fortune); and the Washington Redskins owner Dan Snyder ($2.3 billion).

Maryland is also loaded with giant companies. Lockheed Martin, Northrop Grumman, Fort Meade, Mars, Marriott Corporation are just a few of the major firms headquartered there.

Millionaires are scattered across the United States, with various states boasting different percentage of high-net-worth individuals. So where will you find all of America’s millionaires?
