Harvard And UToronto Tops University Ranking By Academic Performance (URAP) 2016 List

Harvard University

Harvard University has been ranked the as the best university in the the world by the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) for 2016, beating Canada’s prestigious University of Toronto in 2nd place among 2,500 institutes across the world. Rounding up the top five was University of Oxford (3), Johns Hopkins University (4), and University of Cambridge (5).

The ranking placed University College London (UK) in 6th place globally, followed by Massachusetts Institute of Technology also known as MIT (7th), Stanford University (8th), University of California Berkeley (9th) and the University of Michigan (10th).

Two Israeli academic institutions appear on the latest list of the world’s top 200 universities — the 2016 University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) – Tel Aviv University in the 117th spot and The Hebrew University of Jerusalem in the 170th spot. In all Israel’s 7 universities made the top 2000+ list – the University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP).

The University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) ranking system’s focus is on academic quality. URAP has collected data on 2,500 higher education institutions (HEI) in an effort to rank these organizations by their academic performance (quality and quantity of academic publications).

The rankings are based on six performance indicators, these are article, citation, total document, article impact total, citation impact total and international collaboration.
