Meet The 7 Top-Earning Movie Producers In Bollywood of 2014

In Bollywood, actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, and Salman Khan  get most of the attention but they aren’t necessarily the ones who are making the most money.

If, you thought Salman Khan was wealthy with his $39 million paycheck; or Amitabh Bachchan with his $31 million paycheck this year?

Turns out it’s the people behind the scenes who are really making bank in the film industry.

After ranking the top Celebrities in India, the Indian edition of Forbes Magazine has now put together a list of the top bollywood producers of 2014. Thanks to Dhoom 3 and Mardaani Aditya Chopra had an estimated 2014 collection of $68 million between October 2013 to September 2014, which ranks him as the top Bollywood film producer who scored big at the box office for that time period.

The producer has had an exceptional year with back to back hits – Dhoom 3, Gunday, Bewakoofiyaan, Mardaani, Daawat-e-Ishq, Aaha Kalyanam, Grace of Monaco (co-produced).

Time period for films considered: October 2013 to September 2014

Here’s the  7 top-earning movie producers in Bollywood of 2014:

1. Aditya Chopra

Estimated 2014 collection: 431 Crore Indian Rs (INR) equivalent to approximately $68 million
Films: Dhoom 3, Gunday, Bewakoofiyaan, Mardaani, Daawat-e-Ishq, Aaha Kalyanam, Grace of Monaco (co-produced)

2. Sajid Nadiadwala

Estimated 2014 collection: 419.25 Crore Indian Rs (INR) equivalent to approximately $66.21 million
Films: Kick, Highway, 2 States (co-produced), Heropanti

3. Ekta Kapoor

Estimated 2014 collection: 243.7 Crore Indian Rs (INR) equivalent to approximately $38.42 million
Films: Ek Villain, Ragini MMS 2, Main Tera Hero, Shaadi Ke Side Effects, Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi

4. Rakesh Roshan

Estimated 2014 collection: 240.50 Crore Indian Rs (INR) equivalent to approximately $38 million

5. Karan Johar

Estimated 2014 collection: 230.31 Crore Indian Rs (INR) equivalent to approximately $36.38 million
Films: 2 States (co-produced), Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania, Hasee Toh Phasee, Gori Tere Pyaar Mein

6. Sanjay Leela Bhansali

Estimated 2014 collection: 174 Crore Indian Rs (INR) equivalent to approximately $27.50 million

7. Ajay Devgn

Estimated 2014 collection: 141 Crore Indian Rs (INR)  equivalent to approximately $22.29 million
