Verizon is looking for a new CFO who could later transition into the CEO role.

Verizon Communications (VZ.N) is in the process of searching for a new Chief Financial Officer (CFO) as well as potential candidates to succeed CEO Hans Vestberg in the future. Following a reshuffle of senior leadership roles in March, Tony Skiadas was appointed as the replacement for former CFO Matt Ellis, while Sowmyanarayan Sampath assumed the role of CEO of Verizon Consumer Group.

The CFO search is being actively conducted by Vestberg, who also serves as the chairman of the telecom giant, along with involvement from the board members. The company is considering multiple candidates for the position, and the search is ongoing.

Verizon aims to identify a highly capable Chief Financial Officer (CFO) who will play a crucial role in the company’s ongoing growth and success. While Verizon has made significant investments in 5G technology, the expected revenue growth from these investments has not materialized as quickly as anticipated. This has pressured the company to assess and adapt its strategies to remain competitive in the market.

Furthermore, rival network operators have gained market share during this time, intensifying the need for Verizon to position itself and regain momentum in the industry strategically. The new CFO will be crucial in evaluating and refining Verizon’s financial strategies, capital allocation, and revenue generation initiatives to drive sustainable growth and regain market share.
