PA Consulting Appoints Christian Norris for the role of CEO

PA Consulting has named Christian Norris as its new Chief Executive Officer, marking the third CEO appointment since the beginning of 2020. This follows the departure of Ken Toombs, who held the position for less than three years.

Norris expressed his gratitude for being chosen as the leader of PA Consulting, while Bob Pragada, a PA board member and CEO of Jacobs, expressed his enthusiasm for Norris’s appointment and the future of PA Consulting.

Norris joined PA Consulting in 2018 as a partner. During his time at PA, he has led the firm’s health and life sciences sector, as well as its economics and strategy offerings. He has collaborated closely with clients, gaining a deep understanding of their organizational strategies to drive growth and high performance. Additionally, Norris has played a pivotal role in shaping PA’s business strategy over the past five years, leading to exciting client engagements across various geographies and growth through acquisitions.

John Alexander, the Chair of PA Consulting, praised Norris as a strong leader, highlighting his purposeful, strategic, authentic, thoughtful, and collaborative approach. He emphasized that under Norris’s leadership, PA Consulting will continue to create new growth opportunities for clients, employees, and communities.

PA Consulting, founded in 1943 and headquartered in the UK, now boasts 4,000 experts across Europe and North America. The consultancy focuses on innovation and supports clients in areas such as strategy, operations, product design and engineering, digital transformation, AI and analytics, and cybersecurity.

Despite facing challenges, including narrowly avoiding a sale to maintain its independence and bringing in private equity backer Carlyle in 2015, PA has achieved substantial growth under the leadership of former CEO Alan Middleton, reaching £500 million in revenues. Following Middleton’s departure, Panos Kakoullis was initially named as his successor, but this was later changed when Ken Toombs became CEO in October 2020.

Now, with Christian Norris at the helm, PA Consulting looks to navigate the current period of uncertainty and continue its strong growth trajectory. Norris takes on this role following another successful year, with a 14% year-on-year increase in fee income for the year ending December 2022.
