Barclays Appoints Michael Del Giudice as Chairman of the Financial Sponsors Group

Barclays has announced the appointment of Michael Del Giudice as Chairman of the Financial Sponsors Group. Del Giudice will be based in New York and will report to Jean-Francois Astier, the Global Head of Financial Sponsors Group.

Del Giudice brings more than 30 years of investment banking experience to Barclays. He recently held a senior Managing Director position in Citi’s Global Asset Management group, with a history dating back to his 1992 joining of one of its predecessor firms, Smith, Barney, Harris Upham. Del Giudice has strong connections within the private equity and alternative asset management industry and has cultivated lasting institutional relationships with industry leaders such as Blackstone, Warburg Pincus, Carlyle, Onex, EQT, and Centerbridge, among others. He has been involved in arranging financing for numerous transactions that have significantly impacted the private equity industry over the past few decades. Del Giudice will collaborate closely with Christian Oberle, who was recently appointed as Head of Americas Financial Sponsors Group at Barclays, having joined from J.P. Morgan Chase & Co.

The appointment of Mr. Del Giudice is the most recent in a series of important strategic hires for Barclays, reflecting their continued commitment to investing in industry-leading talent within Financial Sponsors and the broader Corporate and Investment Bank.
